  • Can I buy samples and return them if they're not suitable?

    Individual items can be ordered as samples, which you'll pay for up front.

    If they're not suitable for use, samples can be returned to us using our free returns portal.

    We'll issue a full refund according to our returns policy, provided goods are undamanged and in their original packaging.

    If you proceed to place a larger order, we'll refund the shipping cost on your original sample order. Let us know if this is the case by emailing talk@plankhardware.com, then we'll make arrangements.

  • Will your brass hardware match my other brass home accessories?

    Most of our brass coloured handles are solid brass with a protective clear lacquer, and so should match with other solid brass homewares. Read more about our materials and finishing processes.

    If you're uncertain, you can order a single items as a sample to check, then return it if it's not suitable.

  • Will the supplied screws be the right size for my project?

    When shopping for cabinet knobs and pull handles on our website, you can select the specific length screws that will fit your drawers or cabinets. We recommend selecting a screw that is about 5mm (1/4") longer than the panel that it will be going through. We offer metric M4 screws ranging in lengths of 16mm (2/3") to 45mm (1 3/4").

     

    If you're unsure about what size screws to choose, we provide 25mm (1") as our standard size, which works for panels that are 20mm (3/4") thick.

  • Does brass hardware tarnish?

    Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc, which can be combined in varying proportions to give it different machinable properties and beautiful tones. Brass does tarnish naturally with age, and this process can speed up if cleaned excessively or with corrosive cleaning products. The process can also speed up if brass is exposed to outdoor conditions like wind and rain.

    We recommend cleaning your hardware with warm soapy water and a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive towels, sponges, cleaning sprays, bleach and hand sanitizers.

    Our solid brass handles are coated with a clear protective lacquer, however over time will still age naturally.

  • Are knobs and handles supplied in pairs?

    All of our items are sold individually, except where clearly marked as a set.

    This means you can shop according to your specific project needs, so avoiding wasted products and money.

  • Do door lever handles include a latch or lock?

    Latches and locks must be purchased separately unless specified.

    Every project can be unique, so please get in touch for a recommendation!

  • How do I clean Plank Hardware products?

    Each brass cabinet knob or handle is coated in a protective clear matt glaze to prevent it from oxidising.

    Clean your hardware with warm soapy water and a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive towels, sponges, cleaning sprays, bleach and hand sanitisers.

  • Where can I find technical information and installation guides?

    Each product has a downloadable technical specification in the dimensions section on the product page.

  • Can I be notified if a product is coming back in stock?

    If a product is available to purchase, this means we have the stock and can dispatch it immediately.

    If a product is dispalying the green "Pre-order" button, that means stock is on its way to us. You can confidently secure your order by making payment now. An "Estimated Arrival" date will be displayed when you hover over the button.

    If a product is "Out of Stock", it's possible that lead times are up to several months. You can use our "Email When Available" button to sign up for a notification, to alert you when we have new stock.

  • Can I visit a showroom to look at the products?

    We don't currently have a showroom, but you can collect orders placed online for pick up at our warehouse Monday to Friday between 9:30am and 4:30pm excluding Bank Holidays.

  • Do you offer discounts for large orders?

    We offer a welcome discount to first time customers who sign up to join our newsletter.

    We also offer discounts to those who work within the construction and interiors industries. For trade orders and high-volume orders, please visit our trade page, or drop us a line at trade@plankhardware.com.

  • Do you offer trade accounts and discounts?

    We offer trade accounts for businesses in the interior design and construction industries. To apply, simply complete our short application form. Once our trade team has reviewed and approved your application, you’ll be able to log in and shop trade prices instantly. 

    Your trade discount will be set at 20% initially and is subject to increase as you reach our spend tier thresholds. We’ll then review your account every six months — if your annual spend is lower than £1,500, we may decrease the discount level as appropriate. We will contact you in advance to discuss this if necessary.

    If you’re working on a large project that requires a high volume of hardware products (e.g. a large residential or hospitality project), we’re more than happy to provide a custom quotation. Just get in touch with us at trade@plankhardware.com and let’s discuss how we can help.

  • Do you offer custom sizes, finishes and designs?

    We're open to discussing custom hardware projects with trade customers, when order volumes hit a certain threshold. Your best bet is to create a trade account. Or, drop us a line at trade@plankhardware.com.

  • Do you offer a warranty?

    We offer a 10 year mechanical warranty on all of our products. Note that products made from solid brass will naturally tarnish over time and this process could happen more quickly if the goods are not cared for properly. Read more about our materials here.

  • What are the lead times?

    We maintain good stock levels of most product lines within our warehouse, so smaller orders are typically dispatched within 1-3 working days.

    If the product is out of stock but available for pre-order, a pre-order button will display with an estimated available date.

    You can also use the "Notify me when available" button to sign up for an email notification.

    For especially large orders, we endeavour to work to a 16-week turnaround. You will be provided with an estimated delivery date during quotation, then any delays will be communicated to you by email or phone. Please let us know if the timelines on your project have changed.

UK shipping and returns

  • How long does delivery take?

    We aim to dispatch all our orders by the next working day. Your order should be with you within 3-5 working days after dispatch. Dispatch times are currently 1-2 working days.

  • What are the delivery options?

    We send orders via Royal Mail, FDL, and DPD depending on the size and weight of your order. If tracking is available, we will update your order with the tracking number when it's dispatched. If you want to expedite your orders, we do have upgrade options, the options available to you will be visible at checkout. Orders over £50 qualify for free standard delivery.

  • Can I expedite my order?

    Express shipping options will be displayed at checkout at an additional charge. We pack orders on weekdays only, but if you select Express shipping, your parcel will be prioritised for packing and dispatched on our next day shipping service.

  • Do I need to wait home for my delivery?

    We try to ensure smaller orders can fit through your letterbox. However, larger orders will not. If your order is shipped using Royal Mail you'll receive a calling card if you are not home when the delivery arrives.

    If your order is shipped using FDL, you'll receive email and SMS updates about the parcel, provided you enter your mobile number at checkout. FDL will provide various options for you to instruct them to leave the parcel in a safe place or with a neighbour or to rearrange delivery.

  • Can I collect my order?

    If you are local to our East London warehouse (E10 7QP), you can place your order for collection. Simply select Pick up at checkout and you will be able to collect your order within 2 business hours. We can accommodate collections Monday through Friday from 9:30am to 5pm, excluding UK Bank Holidays.

  • What is your returns policy?

    Any unused items in their original condition and packaging can be returned within 60 days of your purchase.

    To generate a free returns label, please enter your order information into our online returns portal.

    Once your return has been received, we'll refund you within 3-5 business days.

International shipping and returns

  • Which countries do you ship to?

    We currently ship to the UK, the USA, Ireland, Canada, and Australia. If you are shopping with us from one of those countries, you will be able to view prices in your home currency by using the currency selector.

    The prices displayed may include additional amounts to cover taxes and duties applicable to your country, so that you don't have to deal with customs paperwork or make any payments to the local authorities in order to clear your parcel for delivery to you.

  • What are the international payment options?

    Depending on your shipping country, our checkout will show you payment methods available in your location. We do not hold any of your bank details.

  • Which couriers do you use for international shipping?

    Depending on your shipping country, our checkout will show you our available shipping options. If you select an express shipping option, the parcel will be shipped to you via DHL.

  • How long does international delivery take?

    Our international orders take between 3-7 working days after dispatch, depending on the destination and the shipping option selected at checkout. When making your selection, an estimated time frame will be displayed.

  • How can I track my international parcel?
